TactiCool Fire Pits originated in Southern California, where the nights are cool and the terrain is unique. We wanted a portable fire pit we could take anywhere, from the mountains, to the desert, the beach, or just the backyard with a glass of our favorite whiskey.
Working out of their small shop in Southern California, they’ve managed to change the way we think about campfires for the better. If you’re overlanding out in the San Diego area there’s always a good chance you’ll catch them enjoying their fire pits right alongside you!
Devin and Avery started their business on the principles above, and each fire pit and cooler you order is hand made by them.
Burn bans and regulations are a part of life for anyone living in the West. Dry conditions and fire just didn’t go together. At least not when you had to haul fire wood and risk sparks and wind carrying your fire where you didn’t want it.

Every TactiCool portable propane fire pit is hand made at our small workshop in Southern California. We source the ammo cans from military surplus supplies, not a foreign manufacturing line like you might find elsewhere. We hand strip and paint the cans to ensure quality and attractive heat resistance. Each burner is hand assembled and drilled. Every thread hand tightened.
You’re not going to find a more uniquely American-made product out on the market today. Its not easy making all of these by hand, but its how we started and how we’re going to continue because that’s what your money deserves.
The Sub-Compact is the most most compact propane fire pit on the market today. At just 3” wide, its the width of a beer can. But doesn’t lack any power, housing the same badass burner as our O.G. model.
