Using Your Ammo Can Fire Pit
Tips Before Your First Use
Just a reminder, the lid of the ammo can comes off. It’s not necessary, but recommended so you don’t burn the rubber seal on the lid.
lets go over a few safety tips. Because you guys are cool, and I don’t want you to get hurt.
Remember, you are buying a fire pit (unless you’re buying a cooler, then a lot of this wont apply to you…). Fire pits by nature are, like, hot. So here’s a few pointers:
Don’t use this inside. There was a whole song about it “The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire!”
Its made of metal. Metal + fire = really freaking hot. Like over 700 degrees hot. Don’t touch it, don’t make your kids hold it, don’t put it on an origami table.
Don’t have the lid closed and connected to propane. As good as the hoses are, they can still leak some propane. It’ll get trapped inside the can, then you’ll try to light it, and we’ll all see the fireball from here.
Ensure the lighter is lit and inside the can then turn on the propane. You’ll be able to control the flame better and wont accidentally burn those amazing eyebrows off.
The metal cans and connections will stay hot for some time after the fire is extinguished, so don’t touch it for awhile ok? Cool.
Keep a fire extinguisher at the ready, you just never know what could happen. And if there is no out of control fire you could use it as a jet booster or something, just a theory.
We’re kind of professional pyros around here, and a lot of the pictures featured on the website and our social media have the flames turned up beyond recommended levels to showcase the capabilities of the fire pit. They were done with appropriate clearance and a fire extinguisher at the ready. So, we expect you’ll take the same precautions and not turn your flames up as high as the ones we’ve shown you.
By buying one of these fire pits you agree to abide by the safety measures listed on here and those that are included in your fire pit. Should you choose not to abide by them, do not buy a TactiCool Fire Pit, or contact us after you have bought one and we will work out a plan to return your fire pit for a refund.
